BACKGROUND

President Obama announced an African Heads of State Summit in Washington DC August 5-6, 2014 starting with the AGOA ministerial summit on the 4th to: “Strengthen ties with one of the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing regions” and “advance the administration’s focus on trade and investment in Africa, and highlight America’s commitment to Africa’s security, its democratic development, and its people.”

During these official summits, 48 Ministers of Trade and 47 African heads of States will be in attendance. This gives BIA a prime opportunity to promote the private sector’s participation into Africa’s economic transformation.

The Believe in Africa Leader’s Forum is the first gathering of Africa’s Leaders on US soil.
